I was reading every word of the magazne and used to share with fellow Witnesses to my own surprise--to know that they never bother to read it!

Their name will be their downfall.....
by snare&racket inthe bible is written in classical hebrew (there are many other types and older types).
yhwh is a classical hebrew sentence that roughly means 'he wills it, and it happens'.
the hebrew language has such mechanisms for saying things in a shortened form, much like today cpr, rsvp, vip etc..... adonai is also classical hebrew, but its a word.... it means 'lord' and 'master'.. .

JWs' careless translation of the name Jehovah as “HE CAUSES TO BECOME” with no object indirectly makes Him responsible for everything that happens anywhere, because, happening is nothing but becoming. Then how can he feel CHALLANGED by Satan as He Himself is behind any becoming—including an angel BECOMING a satan? Again why take action against many BECOMING sinners through one man’s sin, as He Himself is behind all becoming? It goes on and on. See the havoc one careless translation has brought in!
No wonder Jesus prefered to address God as FATHER, which can NEVER been misunderstood by anyone.

This is an interesting situation--"an apostate" site has more truth than the JWs.
Here truth comes also with freedom

You don’t have to believe it as it is a fact to Jesus Christ. (Mathew 11:14) He did not made it compulsory saying: “If you WANT to accept” and “those who have ears, let them hear.” Because, for this to exist, in spite any one's belief to the contrary.
Another thing: Remembrance is NOT the criterion. Criterion is Mathew 12:35 and Galatians 6:7 which mean if you have not reaped the consequence of what you did, you have to come back to do so.
When someone breaks a queue, every one responds in the same way, saying “he is WRONG.” This shows everyone has in-built knowledge of good and bad. No remembrance of the past incident is required.
Hence the key is whether you are willing to do Mathew 7:12 or not, which is termed as the whole law and the prophets. You have to come back until you learn to do this law joyfully. Once you successfully do that, then you move to the next phase. (John 5:24)

It is an interesting situation JWs never foresaw--Number of them is dwindling, and number of "apostates" who return to the truth are increasing!
Thank you for that picture

For a sincere person, it won't take much time to REALIZE that it is Organisation that is being worshiped by JWs, not Jehovah.

Can anyone explain this reasoning?
by Honesty inwhen a jw goes from door to door on a daily basis, they are called pioneers and it is a good thing.. it is an act of love when they share their knowledge with householders.. .
however, if that pioneer learns more about the watchtower society's beliefs when compared with the bible and tries to share that knowledge with current members he is attacking his brothers and sisters and is mentally diseased.. when he shares his knowledge about the watchtower society's involvement with the un and other political entities with the brothers and sisters it is called an act of hate.. in both instances, we have similar actions and motivations but the watchtower society comes to completely different conclusions.. does it have anything to do with control or is it related to something else?.

Answer is simple: One should have love of truth TILL he becomes a JW; once you are in, you should love SILENCE!

Why JW's take on education is truly disingenuous
by Black Man inwe've all waxed poetic about the jw views on higher education and how they truly stifled people trying to pursue an education.
but what did they offer as an alternative??!!.
at least mormons (who's theology is as equally fucked up as jws) had an accredited school in brigham young university that their people could aspire to attend.

When I was serving in India Bethel, I could see a strange trend. Children of educated parents were pursuing higher education (ofcourse prompted by their parents) whereas others were blindly following JW dictat on higher education. Good to see at least some refuse to buy their short-sighted view on higher education.

Should all elders be painted with the same brush?
by Socrateswannabe inan hour or two ago, i was reading a topic on this forum that welcomed new elders to jwn.
there was some criticism aimed at the op and i understand that elders shouldn't be singled out as special.
one poster said he/she hates all elders.

When I felt the way you felt, I was working in the Service Department of India Bethel as Assistant Overseer. I put the question directly to the ZONE OVERSEER when he visited India Branch in 2005. He arranged a special meeting of Branch Committee (5 members together) trying to convince me to the contrary! That was the end of my 15-years Bethel life. They will only go from bad to worse! It has gone too far to the point a u-turn is impossible, typical of ego!

Do you believe Jehovah enjoys watching people suffer and why would you want to worship him?
by booker-t ini have to admit i never really thought about this question until one of my classmates challenged me with this very question.
she made an excellant point and i have to admit i am asking myself the same question does jehovah enjoy watching people suffer.
the case she brought up was the flood story.

You expressed beaustifully what many of even JWs themselves think--but afraid to express when they are with them.
Thank you for those BOLD, and LOUD thinking!
